We have just returned from a very enjoyable trip down to the beautiful French Riviera, where we stayed with our friends at Eurocamp.

La Baume holiday park is an extensive park, set in a pine forest just outside Frejus. The setting is lovey, as are the campsite grounds. The smell of pine trees, bacon cooking and fresh coffee each morning is a great combination to start your day. La Baume is a large park and depending on where your accommodation is, you could have a long walk to reception and the shop. If you have small kids, we recommend getting one of the rumble trucks, which are great for getting your little ones around the park and great fun for them. We also saw on on more than one occasion these little trucks used for transporting crates of beer from the shop.  There are two huge swimming pools at either end of the park and a couple of smaller ones, including an indoor one (which we fortunately didn’t need to use) and a really good toddler pool, with lots of little slides and fun for toddlers. There are also lots of play areas, tennis and beach volleyball courts and a football pitch.

We found the staff at the park and in particular the Eurocamp guys, extremely friendly and helpful. We had lots of questions for them and they were more than happy to help us, whatever our request. They were also great with the kids. This is an incredibly kid friendly park, with enough to keep them busy all day, every day of your holiday.  We were more than happy to leave the little ones in the kids club and they had a great time every day and got to try out lots of fun activities.

We stayed in one of Eurocamps mobile homes and the accommodation was adequate, although we would probably go for a bigger unit next time, as it can get a bit cramped after a week or so. Some of the top end, three bedroom homes looked lovely. The weather was very hot when we stayed and luckily the air-con in our holiday home was fantastic and kept us and the kids nice and cool. Most evenings we cranked up the bbq, which we really enjoyed. Every holiday home comes equipped with a bbq and wherever you are in the park, every evening, you can smell sizzling sausages.

We did leave the camp on occasion to visit some of the lovely beaches nearby. There are too many to mention here but our favourite was Agay, just a ten minute drive away. A day in Cannes and Monte Carlo is a must, where you can go see the huge yachts moored up and fancy cars outside the famous Casino. The park is just off the A8 motorway, so you can get anywhere up and down the coast really easily and driving on the wrong side of the road really isn’t an issue. Its takes five minutes to get used to it. We were under the impression that the campsite was walking distance to Frejus but its not. There really isn’t much in the immediate vicinity of the park, so you do have to drive to get anywhere. If you don’t want to do much, you can just chill in the campsite, which has a well stocked shop, two bars a really good restaurant and a pizza bar (we didn’t try the pizzas but they looked nice).

All in all, we had a great holiday and were very impressed with La Baume, the Cote D’Azur and Eurocamps. We would definitely go back and stay at La Baume. Many thanks to all the guys at Eurocamps who were great, throughout our stay.
