La Plagne is a high resort with most runs at 2000m and 2700m, which in turn contributes to the resort's snow-sure reputation. Beginners will love the generous nursery slopes and array of wide gentle runs available. Intermediates will be in heaven with hundreds of kilomtres of wide open reds and experts can set their sights on the Bellcote glacier with its superb long black pistes and untracked powder slopes - a rare opportunity to ski descents of more than 2000 vertical metres. La Plagne is linked by the Vanoise Express to neighbouring Les Arcs (Also very family friendly), making a huge ski area with over 425kms of pistes.
Apres ski is low key, although there are bars and restaurants in all of the resorts that make up La Plagne. Mark Warner and Club Med both have chalet hotels here in enviable ski in-out locations. Esprit ski's flagship Chalet Hotel Des Deux Domains, is in Belle Plagne, one of the highest and most pituresque of the La Plagne resorts and also one of the most family friendly.
