Family trips visits Woodovis Holiday Park
We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Woodovis holiday Park in Devon.
We wanted to share our experience at this park, that we highly recommend. All the staff at the park are extremely friendly and helpful. In particular we want to mention Andy and Angy, who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a big smile.
We arrived by campervan, supplied by Bongoagogo and as this was our first campervan holiday, we appreciated the help from Andy setting up the van hook up. They gave us a great spot, right by the children’s play area and close to the toilets and baby changing area for our little one. By the end of the weekend we fell in love with our little Bongo van, it was our home away from home and we were sad when we had to take it back. It was everything we needed for our little break with the kids.
The park itself is immaculate, with well tended gardens, pristine lawns and excellent onsite facilities, particularly for kids. There is a lovely and safe play park with swings and sides and an old tractor to play on. In the games room you will find a pool table, air hockey, pinball and giant connect four. There is also an indoor swimming pool, although kids will need to be supervised as its unsupervised. We were very lucky when we visited and had three sunny days, so the lawned sports area was busy every day with families playing Frisbee and football, or making use of the outdoor table tennis table.
If you don’t want to camp or you don’t have a campervan or motorhome, you can book one of the top of the range mobile homes or one of the unique wooden pods, although make sure you book early as these are very popular and get booked up fast in high season. Next time we go down, we plan to stay in one of these funky pods, they looked brilliant.
The setting of the holiday park is really good, with stunning scenery all around and Dartmoor just a few minutes drive away. Its also fairly easy to get to the coast and various other local attractions. The location is very peaceful and relaxing. That is what this park is all about, so don’t expect a lively bar on site or much within walking distance. Although the local pub is about a fifteen minute walk and serves local ales and food.
All in all, we were very impressed with the park, the staff and the setting. We are planning to go back again in September we liked it so much. The park and the area is a great place for a family break, with lots of family attractions in and around Dartmoor and lots of fun for the kids at the park.
